Christmas Lights at 4 Jenner Place, Brechin
Brechin Healthcare Group are delighted to be the charity chosen by Mr Jemmett to receive the donations given by the folk in our community and beyond, for the magnificent Christmas light display at his home in Jenner Place, Brechin. The donations received will support our ongoing work at the Jenner Centre in the centre of Brechin, and towards our planned Meeting Centre at Glebe Park, home of Brechin City Football Club, to address the health and wellbeing needs of folk in our community.
The Jenner Centre named after Eric and Grizelda Jenner GPs in Brechin from the 1950s to the1980s, provides accommodation for a variety of statutory and 3rd sector organisations many of which address the influences on health. Staffed by volunteers we offer a friendly and welcoming non-clinical, non-judgemental venue.
The Centre also provides NHS supported Footcare and Hearing Aid care which allows us to communicate with many elderly residents. As we see the months pass, we identify changes in their cognitive function and are aware of the effect on their families and carers. We also provide support for folk who need to use eConsult to access medical services. The Christmas lights donations will go a long way to help with the ongoing running costs of the Centre.
Also, the donations will go towards some of the costs involved in setting up the Meeting Centre at Glebe Park which will address the needs of people with long-term illness, their families and carers. These costs will include the training of volunteers.
We, at Brechin Healthcare Group, are deeply appreciative of Mr Jemmett choosing us to receive the very generous donations being given by so many folks as they marvel at the amazing Christmas light display at his home.
